Flathead Childhood by
Richard Adams
This drawing depicts a Flathead Child striking a confident pose with his foot propped on a ponderosa pine tree. The elaborate bead work, headdress, and mocasins suggest a ceremonial outfit possibly worn for the tourists in the area at the time. The drawing is 10 " x 13" and is based on photograph taken of a Flathead child in the early 1900's near Kalispell, Montana.
