Ace is a well-mannered, energetic Black Lab who has one of the softest coats of any lab I've met. We were able to conduct a photo shoot to capture numerous photos of Ace to be used for the drawing. His gentle, intelligent eyes needed to come across as the central focus of the piece. I really enjoyed drawing the details in the collar including the stitching and rivets.
