Above the Clouds by
Richard Adams
Mountain Goats (Oreamnos americanus) are the quintessential Alpine animal. They are perfectly adapted to life above the timberline. Their thick coats, well-balanced anatomy, and splayed hooves provide them valuable tools for surviving the harsh life among the clouds. I titled this piece "Above the Clouds" to emphasize their ability to survive at altitudes above 10,000 feet.
