After 5 different visits to the Moonlit Sanctuary and Zoo, I was finally able to capture some fleeting images of these charming Spinifex Hopping Mice – some very blurry images, but enough to create a few works with.

This work has been created using Derwent Water Souluable graphite pencils as a base (2B & 6B), then ‘washing’ them to soft tones with clean water. Once the graphite wash was dry, Staedtler Mars carbon/graphite pencils was used to build up the fur.

This work will feature in the April 2009 A.G.R.A. Drawing Exhibition.
