British artist Dave Butcher was born in 1959 and, although he's only been drawing seriously since 2007, was honoured to have a work short-listed for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist Of the Year Award in 2008. Dave told us...

“I used to work offshore as a Diver and I started to do 'sketches' to while away the time. Then after a serious accident I had time to devote more time to my art.

I am hoping to ease into Art full time but in the meantime I am working as a commercial air diving instructor in the Highlands of Scotland (Until I hopefully can realise my dream !).”
